Frequently,
diagnostic tests are needed to get more information about your specific
allergy or asthma condition throughout your care at The Allergy Clinic.
Your tests might include some or all of the following:
Skin Testing: This is usually done on your back or arms.
We use modern, state-off-the-art technology, making these tests
virtually painless.
Pulmonary Function Study (Spirometry): The test measures
the amount of air you breath in and out of your lungs and the speed
at which air can move during the different phases of your respiratory
cycle.
Nasal Smear: A microscopic look at the nasal mucus to see
if allergy or infection is present.
X-rays: Chest or Sinus X-rays, usually called a CAT Scan.
These x-ray tests can usually determine if there is infection in
your sinuses and /or lungs.
We treat hundreds of patients a year who suffer acute episodes
of asthma or endure asthma as a chronic illness. Although treatment
of asthma can be complicated, we, at The Allergy Clinic can provide
you with a comprehensive treatment plan to keep your underlying allergies
and asthma under optimum control.
