Allergy ReliefGet The Allergy Relief You Need and The Specialized Care You Deserve!Medical studies have shown that over 20% of Californians suffer from allergies and asthma. Unfortunately, most of them are not getting the best possible treatment and many have resigned to “just live with it”. Fortunately, you have a better choice. Medical studies have also shown that patients with allergies and asthma who consult with an allergy specialist have better outcomes: They have better control of their symptoms, they have less sick days and are less likely to end up in the hospital or an emergency room. At The Allergy and Asthma Clinic, we specialize in helping our patients get an accurate diagnosis as to what is causing their allergies and then designing and implementing a treatment plan to effectively control their allergy and asthma symptoms. Although most of our patients live here in the San Francisco Bay Area, many fly in from all over the country to consult with Dr. Engler and his staff. And many of those patients tell us, after they’ve gotten the benefits of their treatment, “I wish I hadn’t waited so long to do this”. WHAT EXACTLY IS AN ALLERGIST?An allergist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of allergies and asthma . To become an allergist, a physician needs specialized training beyond medical school, internship and residency to master the skills of this dynamic specialty. After he completed medical school at Stanford and Yale, Dr. Engler went on to do his internship and residency at Stanford University, after which he became a Board Certified physician. He then received very specialized training in allergy at the hands of his father, a former professor at the National Institutes of Health and Massachusetts General Hospital at Harvard who left Boston to found one of the most respected allergy clinics in Texas. HOW DO I KNOW I SHOULD I SEE AN ALLERGIST?Allergy sufferers frequently think it’s normal to spend all day congested and to spend all night coughing, sneezing and/or wheezing. This is not true!! Most of the time, these symptoms can be prevented or controlled and we can greatly improve our patients’ quality of life. They usually sleep better at night and have more energy and feel better during the day.
